History

Our Location: Parc La Visite, Seguin

Haiti has less than 2% of its original forest left due to over cutting and neglect. The forest in Seguin is 12 square mile Parc La Visite National Park with only 2,500 acres of virgin forest left, being protected and replanted by Fondation Seguin the Steward of the forest. Parc La Visite is a part of the Massif de la Selle mountain range. Its highest peak is 2,275 meters in elevation. The park covers approximately 11,419 hectares of land with 1,897 hectares above 2,000 meters in elevation. We have been working with Fondation Seguin in Haiti since 2006, and our co-founding member Winnie Attie, is also a co-founder of Fondation Seguin.
